July 1, 2008 PDF Hudson River Watershed Group Meeting & Sail
On July 1, the Hudson River Watershed Alliance (HRWA) and the NYS DEC Hudson River Estuary Program (HREP) co-sponsored a summit of watershed groups and resource providers working in the Hudson River watershed. More than 45 representatives gathered at the Beacon Sloop Club in Beacon, NY, to share success stories, discuss challenges, and learn what other groups are doing to protect the tributaries and the sub-basins of the Hudson River watershed. After the meeting and lunch, participants boarded the sloop Clearwater for an afternoon on the Hudson River. By providing this networking opportunity, organizers intended to prevent duplication of efforts and to determine what other resources and tools both HRWA and HREP can provide that will assist in furthering protection efforts.
